TOKYO—Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (“Toshiba”) has released high-current photorelays with increased on-state current in small 2.54SOP6 packages for factory automation and industrial applications. The line-up includes “TLP3106A,” “TLP3107A” and “TLP3109A,” which deliver off-state output terminal voltages ranging from 30 to 100V, and a steady on-state current of 3.0 to 4.5A. Shipments start today.
The new photorelays integrate MOSFET devices fabricated with the latest[1] U-MOS process with a trench structure, which reduces on-resistance. This advance has made it possible to increase the on-current rating by approximately 13 to 50% compared to current products[2] in the market, contributing to easier replacement of 1-Form-A mechanical relays in numerous DC and AC applications. The new devices will also contribute to improved system reliability and to reducing the space needed for relays and relay drivers.
